Pro-Fit Behind the Scenes in Los Angeles

Our Pro-Fit engineering and design staff has served as a technical advisor to some of LA's premier automobile customizing shops, including a couple of shops that will be featured in an upcoming TV series. We're not allowed to give out any details, so we'll show you a few pictures instead. Pro-Fit staffers made an appearance representing American Muscle with Drew's intimidating 655hp droptop Mustang and Kevin's tricked-out 2001 Cobra.

Miller Children's Hospital "For The Children 2005" A Success!

June 4, 2005 will be a date that the patients and staff of Miller Children's Hospital (as well as Pro-Fit) will remember fondly. It was the largest single day event in the history of Miller Children's Hospital. From former NFL superstars, to Hollywood stuntmen, to the bands, to the rows upon rows of show cars of all styles and types, to our corporate sponsors who were kind enough to donate toys for the young patients, and the many magazines who covered the event...the staff at Pro-Fit would like to thank each and every one of you for helping us make this event the biggest ever!

Pro-Fit and Miller Children's Hospital Presents - "For The Children"

For the past two years, Pro-Fit has teamed up with the kindhearted folks at Long Beach's Miller Children's Hospital to bring a little bit of joy to their young patients as they fight to overcome childhood illnesses. Through our contacts in the entertainment and automobile industries, we've been fortunate enough to combine the excitement of Hollywood stunt teams with exotic and custom automobiles, then bring the whole show right to the hospital!

Pro-Fit/Ground Designs 2000 presents the F150 Truck and RSX Widebody

Pro-Fit has partnered with body kit manufacturer Ground Designs 2000 to produce styling packages for the latest model Ford F150 truck and Acura RSX car. The styling packages include the body kit and a Pro-Fit fueldoor and will be available soon.

Shown below is the F150 SEMA show truck. Note that the production fueldoor will look different. Our product lineup will soon include standard and custom Ford F150 fueldoors that can be ordered separately:

Some wild examples of custom fueldoors

"If you can dream it, we can build it!" is a motto that we really believe in. Nowhere is this more apparent than the following custom fueldoors, which all began life as a customer's idea.

Here are four examples of "The Watcher" TV fueldoor. The Watcher was made famous by rap superstar (and Pro-Fit VIP customer) Ludacris, who has one on his ride. Not to be outdone, one of our overseas VIP customers wanted something even bigger for his ride. And so "The Big Eye" fueldoor was born. The Big Eye features a 5-inch TFT monitor and is still fully functional with our patented "pop-out-and-rotate" linear mechanism. All Watcher TV fueldoors are completely sealed, insulated and grounded for safety and are meant for demo/display use only.

Several customers wanted to match their fueldoor to their rims. Not a problem for Pro-Fit! Check out these custom Roller spinning fueldoors, which feature precision laser cut stainless steel and chrome plating.

And last but not least, check out this custom logo fueldoor built for a VIP from the Hard Rock Hotel (HRH). The fueldoor features black powdercoating and a precision laser cut stainless steel logo.

An NBA World Champion chooses Pro-Fit for his H2

No matter which team won the 2004 NBA Championship, Pro-Fit came out a winner as we have VIP customers from both teams. So congratulations to new VIP Customer Lindsey Hunter (#10 Detroit Pistons) for a job well done, and a big thanks to VIP Customer Shaquille O'Neal for a great season!

Lindsey wanted something unique for his new Hummer H2, so we built him a very special Roller spinning fueldoor based on his GFG Dresden wheels.

We designed a unique Roller fueldoor in which the entire center cap spins! This is something totally new, since our standard Roller fueloor has just a 5 or 6-spoke spinner attached to a stationary center cap. Lindsey's center cap design matches his Dresden wheels thanks to the precise laser-cut stainless steel center.

Just when you thought our custom fueldoors couldn't possibly get any more "trick", our talented designers raise the bar even higher. We added our exclusive fully automatic opening-rotating-closing mechanism to an already custom 6-spoke Roller spinning fueldoor.

If you remember our last installment of Latest News, Michael O. of ECA (a motorcycle stunt team) submitted a sketch of his team logo for a custom Lite-edge fueldoor:

Two fine examples of Pro-Fit custom fueldoor caps

When Michael O. of ECA (a motorcycle stunt team) wanted to personalize the team's Hummer H2 work vehicle, they chose Pro-Fit to add a custom touch. After mailing us their logo, our skilled craftsman dissected the various pieces of the logo, then precisely laser-cut each piece from a stainless steel plate. Finally, the pieces were carefully welded together in layers, giving the logo a unique 3D look. Once the fueldoor is assembled, a red superbrite LED will backlight the fueldoor, giving it a sinister red glow through the skull.

The next custom fueldoor cap is a Roller 6-spoke spinning fueldoor. Our customer wanted a custom look to match his wheels, so we machined a custom stainless steel backplate for his spinner.

Pro-Fit makes its presence felt during the 2004 All-Star Basketball Weekend in Los Angeles

Celebrities from around the country are flocking to Los Angeles for the All-Star Basketball Game on Sunday 2/15. And many are bringing their own tricked-out vehicles to some very exclusive parties.

Perhaps the most exclusive of these parties is the one hosted by Shaq and General Motors at Raleigh Studios on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. The paparazzi are barred from entering, and nobody is allowed to bring cameras inside. But that didn't stop our photographer from taking these exclusive pics of Shaq's vehicles and actor Chicago's Hummer H2.

Of course, only Pro-Fit linear fueldoors can be found on the various vehicles owned by Shaq and Chicago.

New fueldoor for 03-up Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator

Pro-Fit is proud to announce that the Ford SUVs will soon be able to wear our electric locking fueldoors! Custom options will also be available for those who want to take it to the next level. Pricing for the standard electric locking fueldoor with the brushed aluminum finish will be $349.95.

To see what a Pro-Fit custom fueldoor looks like on a Ford Expedition, check out Ed R.'s awesome 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition. Ed's SUV sports a custom chrome plated electric locking fueldoor with a DUB laser cut logo ($489.95), fully custom audio/video system and 24" wheel/tire package. Definitely one of the nicest rides in Northern Cali!

Pro-Fit in collaboration with one of our overseas partners has created what may be the most exclusive fueldoor in existence - a jewel-encrusted fueldoor. Words don't do this fueldoor justice, so we'll just cut to the pics:

Standard Roller spinning fueldoor

Here's some pics of our standard Roller spinning fueldoor in mid-production. You have your choice of 5 or 6-spoke spinner, which is laser cut from stainless steel, then mirror polished. The full-face cap and ring are triple-chrome plated aluminum pieces. The standard Roller is available for 02-up GM SUVs and is priced at $489.00

Here's the full-face cap which is the base for the spinner. It is a machined billet aluminum piece that is triple-chrome plated:

After shaping the spinner, it is test-fitted on the chromed full-face cap and ring. Once everything looks good, the spinner is mirror-polished, studs are added to each spoke, and the precision bearing is fitted to make it spin.

Here's a completed Roller fueldoor with a custom-machined cap built for Shaquille O'Neal. The only difference between Shaq's custom Roller and our standard Roller is the cap (base of the spinner). Shaq's cap has some custom machine work and additional studs, while the standard cap is a solid full-face machined piece.

Pro-Fit prototype debut - the first fully automatic fueldoor

Merry Christmas to all of our visitors!

After a year of design and testing, Pro-Fit finally unveils their fully automatic fueldoor at SEMA 2003. This fueldoor is completely self-opening, self-rotating, and self-closing! It has to be seen to be believed! Our designers truly outdid themselves on this prototype.

The fully automatic fueldoor is scheduled to begin production sometime in 2004, although the details have yet to be finalized. The first vehicles to benefit from this new design will be the 7 series BMW sedans.

Pro-Fit teams with Polk Audio on demo vehicle

Pro-fit congratulates Thom Voisinet and crew at Polk Audio for their award winning 2003 Honda Civic demo vehicle which made its debut at the 2003 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV. Our staff at Pro-Fit has worked with Thom over the past several months to design and fabricate a custom fuel door just for this special vehicle. We chose a custom DDC-style fuel door with a billet cap. The cap was then engraved with the Polk-Momo logo.

The Polk-Audio Honda ended up winning "Best Modified Import Sports Compact" award from Meguiar's and a Mother's "Choice Award" for excellence in automotive design in the Sport Compact class. Good job!
